In recent years there has been a shift in emphasis by UK providers of risk capital (i.e. venture capitalists and private equity firms) towards larger transactions. As a result, businesses have encountered great difficulty in raising smaller amounts of risk capital funding. It is this ‘Equity Gap’ that SEGF seeks to address.
SEGF was established in October 2002. Since then the fund has been highly active. Details of our current investments can be found in the Our Portfolio section of this website.
